How to Use Desktop Backgrounds to Elevate Your District's Communication
Whether your school is meeting in classrooms, learning entirely remotely, or even a hybrid of both, the nature of education is hectic right now. Considering students (and their brains) are scattered due to the new adjustments in learning, it can be difficult to communicate clearly across your entire district. Luckily, for those with Chromebooks, there could be a good solution for this!
Thanks to Google’s ability to sync your devices, you can change the wallpaper background across all of your Chromebooks. This can be nifty to create new wallpapers with special announcements or other important messages and distribute them to each student easily.
Here’s how to do it via Google’s Support:
- Go into your Chromebook’s settings window.
- Under the “People” section, select “Sync and Google Services”.
- Select “Manage Sync”
- From here you can sync anything you’d like across all of the devices you sign in to, including your wallpaper.
We recommend you check the settings of your devices to find the dimensions of the desktop and design an image that fits that size. Otherwise, the wallpaper may be distorted and could be difficult for your students to read.
Consider using these wallpapers to engage students as well! You could run a district wide contest for designing a background, highlight student projects from art classes, or even student writing from their english classes like poetry.
