Palmrest/Keyboard Replacement

Steps

Step 1

  • Remove 6 screws from the Bottom Cover

Step 2

  • Flip over the Chromebook and open it up

Step 3

  • Use a Plastic Pry Tool or Spudger and separate the Palmrest Assembly from the Bottom Cover

Step 4

  • Slowly lift the Palmrest Assembly and disconnect the Battery Cable

Step 5

  • Lift the black tab on the keyboard connector on the motherboard and remove the keyboard ribbon cable

Step 6

  • Lift the white tab on the trackpad connector and remove the ribbon cable

Step 7

  • Grab your new Palmrest Assembly and connect the Keyboard and Trackpad cables

Step 8

  • Connect the Battery Cable

Step 9

  • Snap the Palmrest Assembly back into place

Step 10

  • Replace the 6 screws that were removed from the Bottom Cover
